The Porsche Cayenne 2018 is the third generation of an SUV that is now ‘sporting’ even more, as you can see in this test. It arrives in Spain in December, with a price that starts at 87,500 euros.
Here is the test of the Porsche Cayenne 2018. A vehicle that has improved in all respects the second and previous generation. The first thing that draws attention is a rear very stylish new Porsche Panamera Sport Tourism, which already followed the lines marked by the Porsche Macan, which, not in vain, has become the most demanded model of the brand. For this reason, behind is the area where aesthetic changes are most noticeable, showing now more horizontal pilots joined together through LED lights as in the Panamera.
It grows in length just over 6 cm, to reach 4.918 meters, and is also lower and wider, although these dimensions are practically identical to the previous model, with 1.98 m in width and almost 1.70 m in height.
In addition, it also loses kilos, in particular it goes from 2.040 to 1.985 kilos, that is to say, 55 kg less, and this in spite of its greater equipment or of bulky elements, like for example the tires, that happens to be, minimum, of 19 inches.
Also these interior dimensions have improved, but I have noticed something more the superior comfort of their new seats, at least the front ones, which now collect and hold the body better. Behind, there is about four more cm of space for the legs.
Regarding its equipment, the Porsche Cayenne 2018 can incorporate improved brakes with steel discs with a layer of tungsten carbide (PSCB acronym, Porsche Surface Coated Brake) whose durability can increase up to 30% and offers better resistance to fatigue. You can also incorporate elements such as LED lights with matrix light beam and with adaptive function, parking assistance system, telephone with Wi-Fi access, preventive pedestrian protection system or the Porsche InnoDrive system, associated with adaptive cruise control and capable of regulate the speed depending on the way of driving you show at that moment if you activate it on a winding road.
The Porsche Cayenne 2018 has several driving programs. The default configuration is the Onroad program, but you have four others available to adapt to different situations: Gravel, Mud, Sand and Rocks; Gravel, Mud, Sand and Rocks respectively, the latter uses the differential lock. And all work with an effectiveness at the height of the other components. That is to say, it will be very difficult for you to get stuck in some ‘offroad’ zone and that is saying a lot.
